Uralla Sustainability Expo

Z-NET Uralla invites our community to the inaugural Uralla Sustainability Expo to be held on 3 August 2019, in partnership with Uralla Shire Council, as a Local Government Week event. We have a great line up of sustainability displays and presentations to build awareness of what we, at the community level, can do to improve the sustainability of our everyday lives.

This event also links to our Elephant in the Woodland project on sustainable firewood, supported by a NSW Government Environmental Trust Education Grant. Plus water sustainability is a high priority for Uralla as we will shortly be on tighter water restrictions without any substantial spring rain.

The Expo will feature a number of entertaining and interactive displays on renewable energy, sustainable firewood, building design, water, waste, transport, food and preserving our natural environment, all presented by talented locals who have a passion for sustainable design and practice. We are still finalising the list of displays – it will be a combination of technical experts and community members including school students. Lots of the displays will be hands on and interactive to engage both the mind and body. More details on presentations will be posted as they are confirmed.

This project has been assisted by the New South Wales Government through its Environmental Trust.
